Mzu
Mzukisi Qobo was born in Langa and grew up in Khayelitsha. He is a commentator on current affairs, leadership issues and global politics. Mzu has spoken to audiences both in South Africa and abroad. He has also advised executives in the mining and financial services sectors on regulation, policy, and stakeholder engagement. Until recently he taught international political economy at the University of Pretoria. Previously he worked at the Department of Trade and Industry where he was chief director responsible for developing South Africa’s trade policy. Mzu is co-author of The Fall of the ANC: What Next? He is currently working on a book on Transformational Leadership in South Africa. His columns appear fortnightly in the Business Day. Mzu has a passion for developing the next generation of leaders. He holds a PhD from the University of Warwick, UK; MA from the University of Stellenbosch; and BA from the University of Cape Town.
